playa del carmen (day 3)

The third day of our trip, Saturday, we went to Cancun. It was a few miles from the tourist-y area and was by far the poorest area that we ministered in.
Here is the main road...

We held the outreach in the "lawn" of this little store (owned by a Catholic family)...

The gang hanging out after inviting the neighbors & before the event started...

They hung lightbulbs across the yard, so I took an artsy shot before they were turned on...

Gracie setting up the popcorn machine (the "stage" is behind her)...

The kids loved hot sauce stuff on their popcorn...here's Jarred helping one of 'em load up their popcorn...

She's cute...

Yes, Lindsay, Eric was flirting with the girls on this trip...

The drumkit was set up on a pallet in front of a pile of tires & next to some logs...

The local pastor was also a musician and took every opportunity possible to grab a microphone and, in this case, my guitar and go crazy for awhile...

I know this picture is blurry, but this little old lady gave her life to Jesus that night--this picture was taken during worship before the testimonies began...

And finally, our cool Danish/German friend Nick (speaks four languages fluently & has lived only in Spain & Mexico so far) hanging out in the back corner during the testimonies time...
